However, transparency is one factor that is often neglected in the pricing process, which causes the burden to fall on the patients. Recently, the health information network Surescripts announced its integration with GoodRx, a telemedicine company, and the move was touted to increase transparency.

However, most pharmacists are against the merger and claim that it will drive people away from independent pharmacies. The solution to this problem lies in using NADAC, which is being implemented by pharmacy benefit managers like Capital Rx to develop better plans for their clients.
